Breaking News

We are essential, and will continue to serve readers, advertisers

As Antigo, Langlade County and all of Wisconsin settle in for a state-imposed shelter-in-place order that could last weeks, we are here.

Newspapersâ€and other legitimate mediaâ€are considered essential services and now, more than ever, are crucial to disseminating and curating information about the rapidly-changing coronavirus and its effects on friends, families and businesses.

To that end, our team of reporters remain on the job, bringing the news of the community and its amazing response to the outbreak and closures. From schools quickly mobilizing to serve ready-to-go meals and provide at-home educational resources to churches live-streaming their Sunday worship services, our community has reacted. Restaurants have adapted to take-out orders and carryout services and grocers are working overtime maintaining inventories and restocking shelves to meet the needs of clientele.

In addition to our reporters, our advertising associates are also on the job, working with their clients as businesses and industry adapt to the changing requirements and assure their customers that when life returns to normal, they will be back.

Our production staff is taking all that information and compiling it daily into one of the most complete packages of information found anywhere, at newspapers of any size. And our carriers and drivers, along with the U.S. Postal Service, are getting it delivered six days a week.

We are hereâ€and will continue to be hereâ€through this pandemic. And we will be here in the aftermath, sharing the stories of the return to normalcy.

You can count on it.
