Antigo Area Weekend Activities

Many food oriented events are taking place on this upcoming warm weekend.

From an annual wild game feed, or an annual sauerkraut dinner to a pancake breakfast, you're sure to find something of interest.

In addition, Kettlebowl is hosting a Fun Day so enjoy some family fun on the ski hill before spring fully makes its appearance.

A look at activities, taken from the advertising columns, follows:



KETTLEBOWL FUN DAY

Celebrate Kettlebowl's 65th year with an afternoon of skiing, snowboarding or spectating.

The hill will be hosting a Fun Day this Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.

With many prizes to win and activities to participate in, it promises to be fun for the whole family.



WILD GAME FEED

The 22nd annual Pastor Jack's wild game feed will take place on Saturday.

The bar opens at 4 p.m. and dinner starts at 5 p.m. held at the Elcho Community Pavilion, N11283 Dorr Street.

There will be a wide variety of wild game and homemade desserts, as well as door prizes and bucket raffles.



PANCAKE BREAKFAST

The Knights of Columbus is hosting a pancake breakfast Sunday morning from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary & Hyacinth Church Hall, 819 Third Ave.

Enjoy all-you-can-eat buttermilk and potato pancakes, served with Peroutka's pork sausage, coffee, milk or orange juice.



SAUERKRAUT DINNER

St. Peter Lutheran Men's Club is hosting its annual sauerkraut dinner on Sunday, starting at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, N2891 County Highway S.

The menu includes sauerkraut with pork, beef, potatoes and gravy, vegetable, bread/rolls, desserts and milk or coffee. Carryouts are available,



HISTORY, THE ARTS

The Langlade County Historical Society Museum is open Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The complex includes the Carnegie library building, Deleglise Cabin and 440 locomotive and caboose. It is located at 404 Superior St. The society is in the midst of a major fundraising campaign to install an elevator and make other necessary and aesthetic improvements. Stop by the museum to pick up a brochure.

The White Lake Area Historical Society operates the Depot Museum and Historical Center in White Lake. Hours are Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.



MOVIES

Now showing at the Palace Twin Theater are “Disney Pixar Onward” and “The Call of the Wild” both rated PG.

THE COMPASSIONATE FRIEND

The Compassionate Friends, a non-denominational support group for those who recently lost a loved child of any age, will meet on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., Father Charles Hoffmann will speak from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Aspirus Langlade Hospital conference room #1021.
