Antigo Area Weekend Activities

Mattoon will host its 14th annual Sportsman's Derby Saturday and that tops the weekend lineup.

It should be a nice day for fishing with temperatures staying in the mid 30s throughout the weekend.

A Doubles Cribbage Tournament will take place at Farmers Home on Sunday.

New movies have hit the Palace Twin Theater and will be showing this weekend, adult and kid friendly options are available.

SPORTSMAN'S DERBY

Mattoon's 14th Annual Sportsman's Derby is taking place this Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Moose Lake, bait is provided at the lake.

Food and Refreshments will also be provided at the Mattoon Community Hall and on Moose Lake at noon. There will be prizes awarded to all youth.

CRIBBAGE

Farmers Home Bar and Restaurant is having a Doubles Cribbage Tournament on Sunday, starting at 2 p.m. pre-registration by 1:30 p.m. and the cost is $10.

HISTORY, THE ARTS

The Langlade County Historical Society Museum is open Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The complex includes the Carnegie library building, Deleglise Cabin and 440 locomotive and caboose.

It is located at 404 Superior St. The society is in the midst of a major fundraising campaign to install an elevator and make other necessary and aesthetic improvements. Stop by the museum to pick up a brochure.

The White Lake Area Historical Society operates the Depot Museum and Historical Center in White Lake. Hours are Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.



MOVIES

Now showing at the Palace Twin Theater are “Birds of Prey” rated R, “The call of the Wild” rated PG and “Sonic the Hedgehog” rated PG.
