The grand opening celebration for the renovated and expanded headquarters of CoVantage Credit Union lines the lineup for events across the northwoods.

The days ahead will also continue the summer Music the Park series, and bring a golf outing and gala, baseball and much more.

A look ahead, taken from the Journal's advertising columns, follows:

OPEN HOUSE

CoVantage Credit Union invited the community to its open house celebration on Monday, 6 to 8 p.m.

There will be tours of the newly revamped headquarters building, including the third floor addition, refreshments, door prizes and giveaways.

Check out the complete special section devoted to the project included with Thursday's newspaper.

SPIRITS AT THE LAKE

The annual Spirits at the Lake, a golf outing and gala to benefit the Community Health Foundation, takes place on Friday, June 28 at Bass Lake Golf course.

The golf tournament is sold out but sponsorships and evening tickets are available.

There will be signature drinks, carnival games, dinner buffet, silent auction and raffles beginning at 5 p.m. Hip pocket will perform from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Tickets for the evening are $35 in advance or $40 at the door if available.

MUSIC IN THE PARK

Langlade County's summer Music in the Park series, which has grown from an occasional night of entertainment to a full-fledgedâ€and very fullâ€schedule, is now underway.

Music returns to the City Park bandstand on Monday with the Hayek Family and their Elvis Tribute, an evening of pure fun. The show is sponsored by The Green Hen, Natural Living Market. AVAIL will be serving hot turkey plates, pie and custard.

On Thursday the City Park bandstand will host The Drovers in a show sponsored by Antigo Dental Clinic and Dr. Meghan O'Brien. The Antigo Lions and Antigo Community Food Pantry will be serving pulled pork and beans, homemade chips, pies and custard.

All concerts start at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise indicated. Food is served at 5:30 p.m.

In case of rain, Antigo concerts are moved to the Heinzen Pavilion at Peaceful Valley Park and White Lake's are relocated to the Lake Pavilion. Elcho's venue allows concerts rain-or-shine.

HISTORY, THE ARTS

Antigo Visual Arts is celebrating “Summer in the Northwoods,” with an exhibit now on display in the AVA art gallery in the Langlade County Historical Society Museum. The show is available for viewing during regular museum hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. It will hang until AVA's fall show opens Sept. 14.

The Langlade County Historical Society Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The complex includes the Carnegie library building, Deleglise Cabin and 440 locomotive and caboose. It is located at 404 Superior St. The Society is in the midst of a major fundraising campaign to install an elevator and make other necessary and aesthetic improvements. Stop by the museum to pick up a brochure.

The White Lake Area Historical Society operates the Depot Museum and Historical Center in White Lake. Hours are Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Old Corner School at Neva Corners has a treasure trove of civic lessons, history, community lore and early life in Langlade County. It is open from noon to 4 p.m. on holiday weekends, Monday; July 4-7; and Aug. 31-Sept. 2. It is also available by appointment. Call Peg Aulik at 715 623-4212.

SALES

Sip and Shop at the Wine Down Party now through Sunday at Schroeder's Gifts on Antigo south side. There will be wine sampling all weekend. Get a free bottle of wine and ever cork wine stopper with your purchase of $100 or more.

SPORTS

Take me out to the ball game with American Legion Baseball and the Antigo Typhoon. Home games are held at Kretz Bros. Park. This week's schedule includes the junior league tournament today though Sunday. There are also home games next Tuesday against Plover, and Wednesday against Marshfield.

The Antigo Polar Bears continues the 2019 BABA schedule, taking on Aniwa in a 1:30 p.m. away game Sunday. Games continue on most Sundays through Aug. 4.

Planning is underway for summer football. There will be a mini-camp for grades nine through 12 on July 15-18. A mandatory parent/guardian and athlete fall sports meeting will be held on July 31 starting with online registration at 4:30 p.m. First day of practice is Aug. 6.

Plan now for the summer gymnastics camp on July 8 through 12. Registration deadline is Friday. Visit agcaymnastics@yahoo.com for details.

The Clara R. McKenna Aquatic Center has announced the 2019 summer swim lesson schedule. There are classes for preschool through level six along with lifeguarding at various times throughout the summer months. Contact the aquatic center at 715 627-0497 for details.

Now showing at the Palace Twin Theater are “Toy Story 4,” rated G, and “Men in Black: International,” rated PG-13.

Peace Lutheran Church will hold a Vacation Bible School day camp with the staff of camp Lutheran on Monday through Thursday. First through sixth grade will meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and three-year-olds through kindergarten, 9 to 11:30 a.m. registration forms are available at the church or download form at www.peaceantigo.org.
