Youngsters will have an opportunity for an up-close-and-personal visit with a fairy tale prince and princess Thursday.

In conjunction with its spring musical production of “Cinderella,” Antigo High School drama is hosting “A Royal Affair” meet-and-greet on Thursday, 4 to 5 p.m. in the theater.

Designed strictly for children ages 10 and under, who must be accompanied by a supervising adult, the “princess party” will include an opportunity for children to dance on stage with some cast members in costume, get a behind-the-scenes look at how the production works and received an escort from the king's herald through a set door.

“We're very excited about it,” Production Manager Eunice Rice said.

The youngsters will also get a tour of the dressing areas and green room and, perhaps mostly importantly, meet and have photographs taken with Cinderella Elyse Incha and her Prince Charming, Payton Adams.

“Then it will be on to the mini-tea party with princess cookies and punch,” Rice said.

Admission is $5 per child. The last entry into the tour will take place at 4:45 p.m. because of preparations for the play itself and dinner for everyone.

“Cinderella” opened to excellent reviews last week and returns to the elaborate Volm stage for three final shows, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Seats are on sale in the high school commons today and Thursdays, 5 to 7 p.m. and one hour before show time. They are priced are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10. All seats are reserved.
