After a wild week weatherwise, it will be a low-key weekend across the northwoods, a time for digging out the snowbanks, strapping on the skis or gassing up the snowmobile.

Conditions should be great across the county's trail system and the ski trails should be groomed. Kettlebowl is also open for action on Saturday and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. each day.

FISHING JAMBOREE

The Post Lake Improvement Association will host its 21st annual Ice Fishing Jamboree on Saturday, with fishing from dawn to 4 p.m. followed by a raffle drawing and awards at 4:30 p.m.

All activities and fish registration will take place at the PLIA Building, corner of Post Lake Drive and Highway K in Post Lake.

There will be plenty of fun, food and games.

CRIBBAGE

Farmers Home Restaurant will host its 11th annual Terry “Hubie” Hubatch Memorial Doubles Cribbage Tournament on Sunday.

Registration begins at 1 p.m. with games at 2 p.m. Cost is $10 per person with 100 percent payback.

Stop in and sign up at 715 623-7332.

OPEN HOUSE

It's time to “Think Spring” at Brickners RV Center.

The dealership will hold its annual RV and Camper indoor open house on Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It will offer those looking ahead a great chance to see what's new for 2019.

MOVIES

Now showing at the Palace Twin Theater is “Lego 2: The Movie,” rated PG, along with “Alita: Battle Angel,” rated PG-13.

SENIOR CENTER

It is a busy February at the Senior Center of Langlade County.

The weekly schedule include Monday, mah jong, 1 to 3 p.m.; Tuesday, coffee, 9 to 11 a.m.; Wednesday, bingo, 1 to 3 p.m.; Thursday: Coffee, 9 to 11 a.m., and cards, 1 to 4 p.m.; and Friday, music with Stone Soup Brothers, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Special events for the month include:

Feb. 19: Lunch Bunch outing to Luigi's (if open), 11 a.m., crafts to follow at 1:30 p.m.

SPAGHETTI

The Antigo Elks Club will host an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner on Monday, 5 to 7 p.m. at the lodge located at 622 Clermont St.

The menu will feature Sartori cheese along with spaghetti and meat sauce, salad, hot garlic bread, ice cream, coffee and milk.

OTHER EVENTS

The Langlade County Historical Society Museum is open Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The complex includes the Carnegie library building, Deleglise Cabin and 440 locomotive and caboose. It is located at 404 Superior St. The Society is kicking off a major fundraising campaign to install an elevator and make other necessary and aesthetic improvements. Stop by the museum to pick up a brochure.

The White Lake Area Historical Society operates the Depot Museum and Historical Center in White Lake. Hours are Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

AARP is offering income tax assistance at a new location this year, the Langlade County Resource Center, located across from the courthouse. Hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 715 627-6580 for an appointment.

GriefShare, a special weekly seminar and support group designed to help participants rebuild their lives, will run Sunday through April 7 at Peace Lutheran Fellowship Hall, Sundays, 4 to 5:30 p.m. Contact the church at 715 623-2200 or peaceantigo.org for details.
