Snowmobile and ski trails are improving, Kettlebowl is open for some downhill action and much more is happening across the northwoods as winter deepens.

Kettlebowl will be operating from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. A look at other events, taken from the Antigo Daily Journal's advertising columns, follows:

DINING

The Antigo Elks Lodge will host an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner on Monday, 5 to 7 p.m. Enjoy spaghetti with meat sauce along with salad, hot garlic bread, ice cream, coffee and milk. The meal features Sartori cheese.

SPORTS

With limited outdoor opportunities, take it indoors at Antigo Bow Club. It will host a free five-week youth archery course beginning Jan 21 with classes at various times on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. Signup will be tonight 4 to 5:30 p.m., at the indoor range, 1112 Mendlik Ave. If you can't make the sign-up, call 715 627-4543 after 6 p.m.

Register now for spring park and recreation programs hosted by the city of Antigo. Tee-ball, coach pitch baseball, pitching machine baseball, soccer and flag football signups are now underway. Park shelter rentals can also be made online. Go to antigo-city.org/parks-recreation and click on the right side of screen menu.

The Langlade County Snowmobile Council will host its 35th annual ride-in on Saturday, Jan. 26 headquartered at the Lily Sno Birds Clubhouse. The fun starts at 11 a.m. Food and refreshments will be provided.

MOVIES

Now showing at the Palace Twin Theater are “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Holmes,” and “Bumblebee,” all rated PG-13.

SNOW BALL

The annual Snow Ball, an L.A. Arts fund-raiser for a new arts center in Antigo, will take place on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Timber Haven in Polar. Running from 7 p.m. to midnight, The evening will include music and dancing with Hop Pocket, desserts, hors d'oeuvres, signature cocktails, a silent auction and more.

Advance tickets are $40 and are available at the Antigo Daily Journal, Neve's Floors to Go & Furniture and Lakeside Market.

WINTER BALL

The Antigo High School Winter Ball, a formal dance, will take place on Saturday, Jan. 26, 7 to 11 p.m. at the Middle School. Grand march will be at 7 p.m. Cost in advance is $20 per couple and $11 per single. Spectator admission will be donation. All profits will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Order flowers for the dance at Frisch Greenhouses. It will be open on Saturdays, Jan. 26, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and today, 3 to 5 p.m.

OTHER EVENTS

The Langlade County Historical Society Museum is open Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The complex includes the Carnegie library building, Deleglise Cabin and 440 locomotive and caboose. It is located at 404 Superior St. The Society is kicking off a major fundraising campaign to install an elevator and make other necessary and aesthetic improvements. Stop by the museum to pick up a brochure.

The White Lake Area Historical Society operates the Depot Museum and Historical Center in White Lake. Hours are Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

AARP will be offering income tax assistance at a new location this year, the Langlade County Resource Center, located across from the courthouse. Hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 715 627-6580 after Jan. 17 for an appointment.

GriefShare, a special weekly seminar and support group designed to help participants rebuild their lives, will run Jan. 13 to April 7 at Peace Lutheran Fellowship Hall, Sundays, 4 to 5:30 p.m. Contact the church at 715 623-2200 or peaceantigo.org for details.

North Central Sales Auction is holding an online only auction for Ray's Auto & repair Shop. It ends Jan. 22 at 5 p.m. Skidsteers, hoists, automotive displays, hand tools are much more are being sold. Go to www.northcentralsales.com or call 715 610-7999 for details.
