Auditions near for Amateur Talent Night, slated Aug. 23

Audition forms are due Monday for Music in the Park’s Amateur Antigo Talent Night.

The program, organized by Antigo Community Theater, will take place on Thursday, Aug. 23 at the City Park bandstand.

This show is open to all ages and ACT is hoping to have a variety of acts, including vocalists, dancers, comedians, instrumentalist, jugglers.

Anyone interested in trying out should e-mail actantigo@gmail.com" actantigo@gmail.com or call or text Moira Scupien at 715-350-1683 by Monday. ACT will then up an audition time with the participants.

A panel of judges will rate the auditions. Criteria are quality of performance, stage presence, entertainment value, costume and content. Acts must be appropriate for all ages.

There are a few guidelines. Acts should be kept under four minutes in length and groups should be eight members or less. Lip syncing or karaoke are not allowed. Complete guide lines can be picked up at the Antigo Public Library, the Antigo Park and Recreation office, or at any of the Music in the Park concerts, held in the evenings at 6 p.m. on Mondays, and Thursdays at City Park. They can also be found online at antigo-city.org/rec 1; click on the Music, Arts and Culture link.

Amateur Antigo Talent Night will be one of the final performances for the summer concert series of Music in the Park. The concert is sponsored by Antigo Dental Clinic and LA Arts will provide roast beef sandwiches, beverages, pies and custard and The Antigo Optimists will have their cheese curds.
