ANTIGO IDOL

Who will be the next Antigo Idol? Find out at the annual Antigo High School talent competition tonight starting at 7 p.m. in the Volm Theater.

PROM SEASON

The spring promenade season gets underway this weekend with the big fete at White Lake Saturday night.

Elcho and Antigo will both hold their proms on April 28.

Plan now for the spring proms with help from Frisch Greenhouses. It will be open to order accessories on April, 12, 14, 20 and 21, Fridays 3 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon. Enjoys snacks and refreshments while you shop.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB

There is a lot happening at the Boys & Girls Club of Langlade County.

National Boys & Girls Club Week is this week, concluding with an art contest and variety show tonight.

The club will also host its annual Corks, Folks and Brews, this year with a Roaring 20’s gala, on April 21 at North Star Lanes. Come in period dress for a chance at prizes and enjoy hors d’oeuvres, dessert, microbrews, wines and specialty cocktails. There will also be an auction, entertainment and photo booth. Tickets are $25 in advance or $35 at the door.

MOVIES

Now showing at The Palace Twin Theater are Ready Player One, rated PG-13, I Can Only Imagine, rated PG, and Rampage, rated PG-13.

THEATER

Wausau Community Theater presents Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Grand Theater. Showtimes are tonight at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, 2 and 7:30 p.m.

DINING

Quinn’s in Neva Corners is serving smelt every Friday during April. Dining starts at 4 p.m.

Go Greek at Ladies Night out at the Antigo Elks Club on Thursday, April 19. Social hour will begin at 5 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Greek apparel is optional and the best outfit wins a free meal. The menu will include lemon caper pork medallions, Horta Vrasta greens. Greek-style potatoes, Greek salad and a Greek dessert. Cost is $15 per plate. Stop in and sign up or call 715 623-3034. There will be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle.

The Elks Lodge will be hosting an All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost is $8. The meal will feature Sartori cheese along with spaghetti and meat sauce, salad, garlic bread, ice cream, coffee and milk.

OTHER EVENTS

The Langlade County Historical Society Museum is open Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The complex includes the Carnegie library building, Deleglise Cabin and 440 locomotive and caboose. It is located at 404 Superior St.

The White Lake Area Historical Society operates the Depot Museum and Historical Center in White Lake. Hours are Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., or by appointment.

Farmers Home will be hosting Butch’s Annual Double Cribbage Tournament with pre registration beginning at 1:30 p.m. Sunday with matches at 2 p.m.Cost is $10. For more information or to register, call 715-623-7332.
