Sentences include jail in Tuesday local court
space
Several defendants appeared before Judge John Rhode during Tuesday court proceedings in Langlade County, as they learned their fate in separate cases.

Hunter R. Riden, 19, Mattoon, was sentenced after his probation was revoked in a 2016 case. Riden originally pled no contest to counts of fourth degree sexual assault and resisting/obstructing an officer.

Riden failed to successfully complete the terms of his probation and was sentenced to nine months in jail with huber privileges on each count, to run concurrent.

According to online court records, Riden was convicted of having sexual contact with a then 14-year-old female in the town of Polar in December of 2016. He also originally gave an deputy who interrupted the act a false name and age.

In an unrelated sentence, Adam J. Boone, 31, 142 Mary St., was fined $1,429 and received five days in jail with huber privileges for a second offense operating while intoxicated.

Boone pled guilty to the charge, while a count of operating with a prohibited alcohol content was dismissed. He also had his driver’s license revoked for a time period of 12 months and must install an interlock ignition device, also for a period of one year.

Other conditions include undergoing and alcohol and drug assessment and establishing a driver safety plan.

Online records show Boone was the subject of a traffic stop for speeding on Jan. 4. He showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests before registering a .137 blood alcohol level on a preliminary breath exam.
