space
Customer Appreciation Day, held Wednesday at the Langlade County Fairgrounds, is being called a great success.

Some years everything clicks, Deena Grabowsky, director at the Antigo/Langlade County Chamber of Commerce, the sponsoring organization, said today.

She explained that the crowd was big and hungry, the food was excellent, and the musical work of LYVE and Jagged Highway also were great, even in the cavernous multi-purpose building.

The Appreciation Day doings has been held for decades by the chamber as its members have said thank you for another year of support. Dozens of businesses participate in the funding for the afternoon and evening of discount food, music and fun.

It was a great night, Grabowsky said after the cleanup was completed.

She explained that everyone seemed to be having fun, with youngsters getting their faces painted, and she even spotted a few adults giving it a try.

Sue’s corn was great, too, she said, adding that the crew had cooked it to perfection in the steam pots. Grabowsky thanked the volunteeres who helped stage the event, work the food preparation facilities and the stands that sold beer, brats, hot dogs, corn, ice cream, popcorn and more.

This was a great year, she said.
