The team fell to Peshtigo Friday night, but rebounded to beat Shawano 9-4, Oconto Falls 6-0, and Hortonville 9-0 in the championship game.

Against Shawano, the Fillies scored eight runs in the second inning to break the game wide open. The team collected four hits in the frame, courtesy of an Alicia Turunen triple, a double from Ellie Preboski and singles from Gabby Baginski and Abbi Noskowiak.

Taking on Oconto Falls, the Fillies scored once in the second inning, once in the third and then four times in the sixth. The big blow was a two run homer by Natalie Dewey. Noskowiak fired another complete shutout to grab the tournament title.

The 14U Fillies finish with a record of 9-3-1. In addition to the first place finish in Shawano, the team took second at Clintonville and third at both Antigo and Peshtigo.

Noskowiak and Weix handled the season’s pitching duties. Five players hit .333 or better at the plate, including Turunen, Preboski, Dewey, McKinney and Callie Hubatch.
