space
The Antigo Red Robins boys and girls track teams competed in the Great Northern Conference meet, hosted by Mosinee on Tuesday and each ended the day with a fourth place overall finish.

Antigo had five total first place finishes and with it, four first team all conference honorees.

Hannah Zenkovich snagged two of the first place finishes, winning both the 100 and 300 meter hurdles for the girls. Kimi Robertson won the girls pole vault, and cleared a height of 10 feet, 3 inches, setting a new school record in the process.

Mitchell Schroepfer is first team all conference in the boys shot put, after a winning toss of 48 feet, six inches, and the boys 4x100 meter relay team of Frank Kneeland, Will Dixon, Thomas Nelson and Riland Baker took first as well, with a time of 45.6 seconds.

The final team standings were nearly identical for both the boys and girls. Lakeland swept to both the boys and girls conference championships, with Medford second for both and Northland Pines third.

The Robin girls had a number of other highlights, including a second place finish from Morgan Hotchkiss in the triple jump, earning her second team all conference honors, while Robertson grabbed an honorable mention in the 100 meter dash with a third place finish, and just missed out on third in the 300 meter hurdles, finish just .03 seconds behind Asucena Boyer of Lakeland.

The 4x200 meter relay of Hotchkiss, Alexis Paszek, Amaya McCann and Ellie Kelly also took third.

The girls came to compete tonight, Girls Coach Andrea Kohler said. We finally had a nice night with the weather, all our long jumpers had personal bests, Robertson set a new school record in the pole vault, Zenkovich won both hurdle races and Hotchkiss was second in the triple jump.

The boys had a number of other highlights as well, in addition to their two first place finishes.

Schroepfer also finished with an honorable mention all conference in the discus by taking third. Schroepfer’s teammate Qwan Bussey was right behind him in fourth. Thomas Nelson was second in the pole vault, while the relay success continued for the Robins with two third place/honorable mention all conference finishes. Those came from the 4x200 team of Drew Hohensee, Baker, Kneeland and Dane Tischendorf and the 4x400 meter squad of Baker, Hohensee, Dixon and Tischendorf.

Bradley Westen also just missed out on an all conference spot in the 300 meter hurdles with a fourth place finish. Westen was just .46 seconds behind third place Scott Young of Northland Pines.
