The revolving personnel door at the Antigo school district is continuing.

At a special meeting Tuesday, the board of education will accept the resignation of Trisha Detert as high school associate principal, effective Aug. 14, and Juli Gauerke as sixth grade skills teacher at the Middle School.

Detert becomes the fourth administrator to leave the district either through resignation or retirements this year.

Dr. Steve Smolek abruptly left his position as district administrator in June, and Sarah Zelazoski, human resources/grants coordinator, resigned earlier this month.

Among principals, Doug Knol retired from the Middle School a the end of the 2012-13 school year and Brian Annen resigned as head of East and Spring Valley elementary schools.

The board may fill the chair at the head of the administrative team, at least on an interim basis. It is expected to approve a contract with a new district administrator to serve through the school year, while it searched for a permanent replacement. The two finalists are David Bardo, former district administrator for the Laona and Wittenberg-Birnamwood school districts; and Don Childs, former interim district administrator in the Clinton, Waupun, Beaver Dam and Howard-Suamico school districts.

Cindy Fischer, the districtís instructional director, has been filling the role temporarily.

A variety of staffing vacancies will also be filled, including activities/athletics director, coordinator of human resources, technology instructor at the high school, Title I teacher at East Elementary, half-time physical education instructor, Spanish teacher at the high school, six special education instructional assistants and a housekeeper.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the media tech room at the high school. It will open with a closed session to discuss the purchase of property along with personnel issues.

Following the special board session, the Operations Committee will meet at 7 p.m. in the media tech room and work through a long agenda. Highlights include a discussion regarding the continued operation of all seven elementary schools for three years, through 2015-16, and setting the date to discuss the ad hoc task force presentation.
