Loons top Eland 7-1 to continue winning streak July 15, 2010 The Mattoon Loons baseball team is making a name for themselves in the B.A.B.A. league as it improves to 3-5 with a 7-1 win over the Eland Engineers Sunday.
Cole Kuenzli commanded the Loons mound for the win in pitching a complete game. He allowed one run on seven hits.
Kersey Resch paced the Mattoon bats going 4-or-5 with a home run and a double. Others receiving hits were Zach Phyle (2-5), Trevor Burns (2-4, double), Jared Tomany (2-4), and Jake Laszewski (2-4).
Joe Buss took the loss for the Engineers.
The Loons will host Wittenberg on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
