Recorded jail house calls lead to drug arrest June 25, 2010 Langlade County authorities have arrested a rural Antigo woman they say illegally sold medication in an attempt to raise money to bail her boyfriend out of jail.
Ashley L. Rector, 25, of N3110 Highway HH was charged Thursday in Langlade County Circuit Court with a felony count of possession, delivery or manufacture of prescription medication. The crime carries a maximum six year term of incarceration, fines up to $10,000 or both.
She is currently being held on a $300 cash bond.
According to court documents, law enforcement authorities listened in as Rector and a current jail inmate made plans over a monitored jail telephone line to sell prescription drugs in an attempt to free him from custody. A sale involving the drug Suboxone was subsequently held at a town of Rolling location earlier this week.
According to court documents, Rector’s boyfriend is currently jailed on pending drug and bail jumping charges. Rector is slated to return to court next week.
