'Prank' sparks concern, area teen at fault June 24, 2010 An apparent prank involving a 19-year old Antigo man’s attempts to trick his sister is not setting well with law enforcement today.
Sheriff deputies both here and Lincoln County along with Antigo and Rural Fire Control ambulance personnel were put on the hunt Wednesday night after the teen text messaged a family member and reported he had been in a car accident. He advised he suffered a possible broken arm but had “blacked out” in the crash and didn’t know where he was. Multiple calls were placed to the teen’s telephone but there was no response.
Deputies tracked the area with no success before eventually locating the man at a Highway 64 residence — uninjured and showing no signs of being in an accident.
Officials are not certain if any further action will be taken.
