Man sought in Minocqua death located June 24, 2010 A man wanted for questioning in connection with a suspicious death near Minocqua has been located.
The Langlade County Sheriff’s Department advised the Antigo Daily Journal shortly after 1 p.m. today that the statewide hunt for 39-year old William R. Schmidt had been canceled. The teletype, which was sent to law enforcement agencies across the area, did not detail where he was located. Schmidt was last known to be in the Chicago area.
Schmidt was wanted for questioning in the death of his wife, Lori Schmidt, whose body was found at their Oneida County home last week.
He had been involved in a robbery at The Woodland House in downtown Antigo in 1996 and was sentenced to prison following that crime.
