Probation for man who burglarized business June 23, 2010 An Antigo man has pleaded guilty to allegations he burglarized a Superior Street business earlier this year.
Michael J. Turcotte, 19, of N4510 Highway H was ordered in Langlade County Circuit Court Tuesday to pay $3,834.99 in restitution in connection with the March 18 theft of stereo equipment from Mike’s Service Center.
As part of a plea agreement, Turcotte pleaded guilty to three criminal counts — two misdemeanor theft counts and a felony burglary charge. He was placed on probation for two years for the misdemeanors while judgment was deferred for two years on the felony. Should he successfully complete probation and pay restitution, he may ask that the burglary charge be amended to a misdemeanor offense.
Craig R. Pilecky, 33, of N3507 Highway H was ordered to serve 14 days in jail after pleading no contest to causing injury by hit and run and guilty to obstructing an officer.
The incident involved an automobile-pedestrian accident near the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Elm Street in September. The pedestrian, Robert Solin, suffered serious back injuries in the accident.
According to court documents, Pilecky left the scene and was subsequently located several blocks away.
In addition to jail, which will include Huber release privileges, Pilecky was placed on probation for two years. He was also fined $100 plus court costs and was ordered to write a letter of apology to the arresting Antigo police officer for lying about his involvement in the incident.
A $300 cash bond was set Tuesday for Andrew D. Gibney, 17, of N774 Carley Road who stands accused of two criminal counts — theft as a repeat offender and obstructing an officer.
The case involves the June 10 theft of a wallet, a cell phone and envelopes containing several hundred dollars in graduation gifts from a car parked along Lincoln Street. The case is scheduled to return to court in August.
Identical $1,000 signature bonds were set in the case of two men arrested in connection with the investigation of a teen runaway.
Timothy J. Hopkins, 23, of 824 1/2 Fifth Ave. was charged with obstructing an officer for allegedly giving police false information. According to court documents, he told police he did not know of the girl’s whereabouts but she was subsequently spotted leaving his home.
Ryan Ostrander, 21, of 824 1/2 Fifth Ave. was arrested on counts of possessing both marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The alleged items were located as police were at the home looking for the missing girl.
Both men are scheduled to return to court next month.
